Hump Day Report
If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed so you never miss a thing! Thanks for visiting!
Wednesdays are proving to be rough days around here this summer. (We all remember last week.) Today was shaping up to look frustrating - but fortunately a clear head and patience won the battle. (I won’t go into details - no looking back!)
After a much needed sleep, I’m refreshed and ready to tackle the rest of this day and tonight’s Hot Seminar Series with Leesa Barnes. (I hope you can make it!)
A bright spot just erupted to put a smile on my face and that is to find the WAHM Talk Radio Blog listed as a SOB over on Liz Strauss’ blog. This is a real honor and it totally made my day. (Thanks Liz!)
This whole week has been packed solid with activity and I’m really ashamed that I haven’t been here to my very own number one blog to talk about my newest project - so let me get down to telling you about it now.
It’s called Blog Evangelists and it’s a ‘fixed term membership site’ that I’ve launched in response to what I’ve been learning from Jimmy D. Brown’s Membernaire program.
BE will teach members how to launch a local blog design company, whether as an actual designer or as a consultant who outsources all the tech to others. Over a period of 12 months we’ll take our Blog Evangelists through the paces of building their own unique business teaching their local business community the value of Web 2.0 websites - developing clients and residual income along the way.
I believe BE is perfect for blog lovers because they’re always trying to talk someone else into starting their own blog anyways - why not turn that passion into a business? It’s also going to be great for virtual assistants who want to build more local clientèle.
Blog Evangelists launched on Monday morning and we already have 20 members. Special launch pricing is active now and we’ll start bumping it up towards the permanent price when we reach around 50 members - so take a look soon to cement the best monthly price.

Today’s topic: What doesn’t belong on a service provider’s website. (Virtual Assistant, Writer, Designer, etc.) Listen in for the no-no’s you may be commiting on your website.
My big news this week is the launch of my new membership site, Blog Evangelists. Yes, it breaks the 2008 rule about ‘no new projects’ but I have forgiven myself so I hope you can too!
Blog Evangelists will teach members how to create, launch and build a local blog design company. It’s a great niche for 2008 and beyond. Sound interesting? Check it out!
Family updates: The manchild is no more a manchild, he is now a man. Sean turned 18 this week! I’m a proud mama!
And if you missed the good news, Piper came home from the hospital on Friday night. She’s well on the mend from the infection that had her burning up to 105 degrees. (Thanks for all of your support and prayers!)

(Here’s a pic of Piper and Sean at the hospital)

Hotness Postponed (And an update on Piper)
Yesterday was one of those days you just don’t want to experience but which come anyways.
First - I was sleep deprived. Nothing new there - since the arrival of the qauds our schedule has been nutty.
Second - I was tech deprived. The conference room I so carefully reviewed and chose for the Hot Seminar Series was proving to be woefully inadequate.
Third - Piper was admitted to the hospital. After two days of high fever she went to the doctor who sent her to the ER for fluids and test showed that she had a severe UTI infection so she was checked in and put on IV antibiotics.
We went through something similar with Max a few months back. Having one of the babies in the hospital creates a whole new dynamic when it comes to covering 24 hours of each day with enough hands to take care of everyone.
Long story short: I postponed last night’s Hot Seminar Series with Lynn Terry and dropped everything off of my schedule for the rest of yesterday and today so that I could put in extra time on Quad Watch.
Piper’s doing better today. Her fever is still going up when tylenol wears off but she isn’t throwing up anymore and has started to take some formula again. That’s good news
I really don’t like having to cancel things, but I know that you understand that everything else pales in comparison to the needs of family. I’ll be working with Lynn to get her topic rescheduled as soon as possible and will post news on that.
I’ll leave you with a little dose of the preciousness of Piper (and grandpa)

Mom, have you cheated on Twitter with Plurk?
Twitter is my virtual water cooler of choice and I refuse to cheat on it with other ‘stream of blabber/micro blogging‘ watering holes on the web - but many have no problem sneaking over the fence to dabble in other social networking sites.
Sure, Twitter has had it’s troubles lately - but I can be patient and hope that they get things under control soon.
Dr. Daisy Sutherland joins me to talk about her experiences with Twitter and Plurk. If you’re wondering, the ‘Dr’ title comes from her training as a Chiropractor. Mom of five, she is devoted to homeschooling her kids and developing her home based business efforts as a blogger and freelance writer.
