Alice says I’m not blogging enough to keep her distracted and I think she’s just grumpy because Dr. Mani asked her too many questions - but I’ll take her meme and make the best of it
1. How long have you been blogging?
Here since March of 2005, on my old blog for about a year before that. I tried and puttered at a few blogs before that.
2. What inspired you to start a blog and who are your mentors?
I like to think in writing so blogging comes very natural. My mentors in the area of blogging? Well… there are quite a few blogs I follow and enjoy. I just did a show not too long ago where we chatted them up: Favorite Business Blogs.
3. Are You trying to make money online, or just doing it for fun?
Man, I could have written Alice’s answer. It is a very blurred line for me anymore. I have fun with my business and if I don’t have fun at something - I usually don’t do it for money.
4. Tell me 3 things you LOVE about being online.
- Connecting to friends
- Watching television shows whenever I want to
- Making money - of course!
5. Tell me 3 things you STRUGGLE with in the online world.
- I don’t like people who come on line and treat others like they aren’t real human beings.
- Compulsive spending. I am looser with a PayPal dollar than I am with a greenback in my purse.
- Making decisions about Social Networking sites - which to invest time in and which to let lie.
There we go
And I’ll work at blogging more so that Alice will have another excuse to be distracted!

Several times a week Sean (my homeschooled seventeen year old son) instant messages me (from the next room) to tell me he wants this or that gadget for his ipod or his xbox or his computer.
Since all of these gadgets cost crazy money, I reply with the standard ‘Get a job kid :)’.
In all truth, I don’t really want him to get a job working at some fast food joint when with some steady effort he could make as much online and avoid the inevitable smell of grease on his clothing.
I’ve been trying to get him to blog since he was about eleven without any success until this week… he comes to me and says ‘Mom, can you give me an affiliate lesson?’
(It’s a WAHM’s dream come true.)
You can catch his blogging at Listen With This.

Heather is amazing. This is the second time I have worked with Heather. The first time I bought a already made theme from her and loved it. She was very helpful and answered every single silly question I had. I then decided I wanted to purchase a custom made blog theme. She jumped right on it. Gave me a great price and finished it very quickly. I could not be more happy with my blogs. Just look at her work and you can see she does an amazing job. I would suggest Girly blog designz to anyone and everyone. Thank you Heather. HUGS! - Tricia G. Dragon Fly Dreams

Want to be a Guest Blogger on the WAHM Talk Radio Blog? Now’s your chance. It’s my first ever Open Blog Weekend and I’m opening up my blog to my readers…
This is how it will work:
Register here. Use your real name and a real email address.
Log in and make your post.
The post will be held for moderation briefly and will be approved as soon as possible for public consumption.
- Have fun with it.
- Please aim to be between 100 and 400 words.
- Be a good speller.
- Feel free to include an image (link to your own image) so long as it fits on the page without skewing the blog and is family friendly of course.
- Do not fear being self-promotional, that’s the whole point
If I think you go over the top in some bizarre way I just won’t approve your post
I can’t wait to see what you all have to say!
Update: Open Blog Weekend is now over

Shannon Cherry tagged me with the most evil of all blog memes… Seven Things You May Not Know About Me.
I’ve been tagged for this before (and it’s sisters Five Things, Six Things and the despicable Ten Things memes) and I usually decide to pretend I didn’t see the tag - but Shannon doesn’t roll like that. She emailed me to make sure I knew about it.
I know this meme and others like it are designed to let you the reader know me better and I’m all for a deepening relationship - but I don’t hold much back on a daily basis so I have a hard time coming up with seven things you may not know that I would want you to know, feel me?
So let’s see if I can play by the rules here - honor Shannon with a fulfilled tag - and avoid telling you something boring about my personal life.
How about we do this?
Seven Things You May Not Know About WAHM Talk Radio?
- When it was first launched, it was a two hour episode. This proved exhausting to say the least and we dropped down to one hour within the first year.
- WAHM Talk Radio existed before anyone had heard the word Podcasting.
- I still do all of the web updating, graphic design and audio production. Yeah, I’m a geek like that.
- I love having a co-host and the show would be nothing without it’s awesome guests but I get the greatest listener feedback when I do the whole show alone. (Coffee with Kelly.)
- At a women’s conference in Grand Rapids, in a room of about 250 talking women a listener found me in the crowd by voice alone. I always thought that was amazing.
- I get almost as many ‘thanks for the show and info’ emails from husbands who want their wives to work at home as I do from the moms themselves. Cool huh?
- I turn down hundreds if not thousands of dollars in advertising requests every month because I believe my listeners deserve only the most ethical business resources and information - even if that means I make less money.
I won’t tag anyone - but I’d love to hear some tidbits about your business if you’d like to share them.
