Our theme this week on Mom’s Morning Show is ‘Wordpress Blogging: Having Fun and Making Money.” We’re three days into our topic and have had a couple of great ‘guest crew members’ join us to share their experiences and expertise.
Lynette Chandler of Tech Based Marketing joined us on Monday to talk about the tech behind blogging and Wendy Piersall of eMoms at Home joined us today to talk about making money through blogging.
Wendy shared a tip that grabbed a lot of listener attention. She has a very involved Wordpress theme installed and making changes to a complicated layout can have unexpected consequences, even for experienced bloggers. She deals with this by having a shadow installation of the blog in another directory where she can made edits and check for problems before taking the change to the public blog.
What a great idea!

You are right. That is a great idea that Wendy shared. All too many times we see the end results of a blog gone wrong.

Shadow installation what a great idea. I’m getting ready to change the theme on my blog so this is timely for me.
