Do you Pick and Peck with your Advertising Dollars?

Working at Home

Some of you know that I bought the Advertising Moms website from Tara Crooks a little more than three months ago.  I’ve shared a little about why I would want to own that website but I want to share some more with you.

Advertising online is often a big challenge for work at home moms.  Knowing where to spend your ad dollars and how to determine if they’re working should be prerequisite knowledge but mostly we practice what can only be called the ‘Pick and Peck Method’.

We don’t have a lot of money so we try to just go for the biggest bang for our buck.  Only we don’t really know what that bang is or what it will look like if it happens.

Read more about that in this article.

Then come discuss it here.

  • Hi Kelly,

    I commend you for setting up a forum where Women can talk about REAL advertising. I remember coming online and spending a LOT of money on advertising but much of it didn't work. I didn't know how to write them or the thought of targeting them... I was clueless! Over time I have learned the value of advertising but this time, doing it the right way. I believe knowing where and how is a huge challenge for the wahm community, but knowing you like I do... all that will be cleared up in no time :) Thanks again!
  • Thank you for the education. I am thinking of an advertising campaign for Vegan Family Living to bring in traffic, but I am doing my homework first :)
  • Reminds me of taking supplements or medication. Those pick peckers complain it's not helping. Hmph! Gee, really?
  • Hey Kelly;

    I agree with you. Advertising effectively is so important - knowing how to write an ad and WHERE to place it. I will never forget my $800 advertising mistake in my first year of business. Ouch :) Marlo
