Working at Home

Time flies when you’re growing your business, amen?

I took over Mom’s Talk Network on October 1st and even though it has only been 24 days it seems like it’s been part of my world for a long time.  I am loving the new digs and enjoying the process of making it my own.

One of the reasons that I was excited to take it on is that I knew it would fit in nicely with everything that I do already.

Mom’s Radio Network has been around for about three years and has become such a great resource.  Providing all that great mom audio content goes hand in hand with the content on Mom’s Talk Network… but the names were definitely clashing.  I wouldn’t like saying ‘Mom’s Radio Network, part of the Mom’s Talk Network’ – that’s one too many Networks!

So, I already had the domain MomsTalkRadio.com and I decided that MRN would become Mom’s Talk Radio and be brought in under the Mom’s Talk Network brand.

Yesterday the changes were made complete.   We set up the website, installed a wordpress blog and customized a nice clean theme, then we imported the content that needed to come over to the new website.  After it was all ready to roll we set up redirects so that anyone who types in MomsRadioNetwork.com or TheMomCast.com (our show announcement blog – which is now part of the main site) will now end up at Mom’s Talk Radio.

Mom’s Radio Network used to have a rather large area of articles for moms – but since Mom’s Talk Network has extensive written content, it just isn’t necessary to carry it on the radio site anymore – so that is gone too.

I have made a similar name change over at Family Food Network which is now called Mom’s Talk Food.  I have only parked the new domain on top of the old, I haven’t actually changed the design – yet.  This site has very recently become increasingly profitable as it stands so I’m not going to make any sweeping changes that would interrupt things.

Now to decide how else to embrace or extend the brand :)  One step at time!
