Every Personality Has Positives and Negatives

This is Post #2 in a Series about Personality Types in Business.

Before I dig into the different personality types I want to cover something important.

There is no such thing as a bad personality. If you’ve ever met someone and thought to yourself, ‘that person has an unpleasant personality’ you’ve actually experienced the bad fruit that comes from someone with weak personal character issues.

Someone with strong personal character will do the right thing and treat people right. They’ll be considerate of others and think of the needs of others before they act. (In business they will focus on providing value to their market instead of just sucking as much money as possible.)

Someone with poor character struggles with doing the right thing. They elevate their needs above others and think the end justifies the means. Selfishness abounds and brings out the worst in any personality.

Every personality type has potential for good and bad and your personal sense of character will have a lot to do with which potential gets met.

Nobody is perfect. So I’m not saying if you ever display negative aspects of your personality that it means that you have poor character – but I will challenge you to recognize that you CAN work to strengthen your character so that what you display to others is more consistently positive.

It isn’t always popular to suggest that there is a right and wrong way to do things – but there are a few tenants that I hope we can agree to.

  • Honesty Counts
  • Delivering What You Promise Matters
  • Providing Value Added Products, Services & Information is Key
  • People Are Precious

If you consider your words and actions on a daily basis; if you temper your decisions with a heart for these issues – you’ll do the right thing and the positive traits of your personality will shine out to the world around you.

If you only do things that benefit you – and never care about whether what you profit from adds value to other’s lives – you’ll make money… but I really hope that it isn’t enough.

You have touched on one of the major problems with the vast majority of online marketers – lack of integrity!

The hit-and-run artists far outnumber honest folks.

Even a Money Back Guarantee may not be a Guarantee. I had a marketer try to scam me out of $17.00 just two days after I bought his inferior, over-hyped, product. He had a no-questions-money-back-guarantee and then claimed he didn’t have the $17.00 to refund to me. PayPal would do nothing but my credit card company gave me a $17.00 credit and is after the guy.

    My rules are these:

    1) Is there a 100% Money Back Guarantee?

    2) Is there a link for Product Support? Before I buy I contact the seller and ask some questions. A fast response is positive. A response that takes more than 24 hours is a negative.

    3) What are the marketer’s name, address, city/state? If this is missing, no sale.

These are my basics. I have purchased lots of products online and have been able to avoid 99.9% of the scammers.

  3. You’re very right, Kelly. Often times my first reaction isn’t the one I go with because I check myself and realize it might not have been as kind as it should be…so, I don’t keep myself from being true to me…I just make sure I’m treating others as I’d like to be treated.
