Fewer Goodbyes

Working at Home

When I started following Kelly on WAHM Talk Radio several years ago, I remember wondering how long it would be until I could be working from home full-time. When I decided to apply for the blogging internship, I read her bio and I noticed it ended, “..more snuggles and fewer good-byes”.

The small comment has really represents the reason I want to work from home, my girlsBonding

My girls are so important to me that having to say “Fewer Good-byes” is the best thought in the world. I will never forget dropping my oldest, now 13, off at preschool the first day. Paige looked into my eyes as I cried tears of joy, and told me “Mommy, I will see you when you get home from work”. At 4:30 that afternoon, I got home and we shared a snack. She told me all about her day and I knew from that point forward, having to say “Fewer Good-Byes” is what I wanted to be able to do.

Being able to work at home gives moms freedom to do what they want and need to do.

Very sweet and touching post. I must admit shedding a few (OK, more than a few) tears myself when my daughter was a baby and I had to go back to work. Now that my kidsw are teenagers, there are days when I would like to resign as a mom. Those times don't last very long though and your post is a great reminder of why I am so very thankful to be a WAHM. Thanks for sharing your heart with us.

Your post is a prime example of the reasons to work at home. Being able to spend more time with our kids is what working at home is all about. Wonderful post!

Wonderful post. I have three boys, ages 2, 3 and 9 and it appears my oldest may have Asperger's. I feel that I absolutely need to be home for them. I started writing articles for various submission sites online, but I wasn't making enough. I decided to start my own article site that gave decent ad share to authors so that I could help support other moms who wanted to stay home with their kids. So far so good – the response has been excellent, and I may just be on my way to earning enough to stay home until all three of my boys are out of school. I hated saying goodbye to my oldest when he was one and in daycare. I never want to do that again.
