Finding meaning in the Why

Working at Home

Wow… I just had a really nice moment of clarity while responding to this post over at Internet Based Moms.

I don’t know if the thread starter meant to go where I went, I think she meant more to impress the importance of long range goals… but well, you go read it yourself.

I just wanted to ponder on this a bit longer.

Why do I host Work at Home Moms Talk Radio?

Why do I mentor Moms in growing their home businesses?

Why do I build niche websites and earn affiliate income?

Why do I do the myriad of other things I do online to make money?

I am reminded of a silly Sesame Street song from my childhood… “which one of these things is not like the other, which one of these just doesn’t belong?” Oh I would like to hear that song!

I know exactly why I do the show and why I am motivated to mentor Moms.

But when you boil things down, I only do the other things for money. And Money, Honey, isn’t a good enough reason to do anything. I want to focus my attentions of things that are meaningful, and that add value to the lives of others.

So it’s time for another fresh evaluation of the way I spend my time and of my financial goals for 2005.
