How To Involve Your Little Ones In Your WAHM Career

There are lots of things that your children can do to help you in the office.  First off before you think it, your children seeing you working hard at home.  JJ In The Office Chair free creative commonsThey want to help.  If you can involve them in little things, you will get more support out of them.  Possibly quiet time as well.  The benefits to doing this is that you will have someone doing the little things aka a little office helper and they will gain a sense of pride out of being able to help you out.

Now what kind of tasks can you have them help you with?  Here’s a list of things that my children have helped me out with:

  • Stuffing envelopes
  • Making copies
  • Collecting the mail from the mailbox
  • Putting labels on packages
  • Critiquing and testing products out for me.  I test out children’s products in some cases.  I’ve gone to different locations to do a review like hotels, and restaurants.
  • Handing out flyers, brochures, balloons, etc.
  • Promoting your business – I’m telling you that if you have a kid’s product that you do having your kids talk about it is a great promotional way.
  • Bring you the faxes if your fax machine is in the other room.
  • Make new file folders.
  • Make rolodex cards.
  • Sharpen pencils.

Now obviously a two year old can’t do a lot of this so you need to find something that they can.  But a six or seven year old can do most of it.  Find ways to include them but don’t at the same time destroy the space that you work in.  Use your common sense here.
