I’m Unplugging

Working at Home

I am one of those people who likes to be connected all the time.  I enjoy checking my email often.  I love following blogs and forums.  Let’s just be honest – I love my work!

So usually when I go away I take my laptop with me and I make time to check into my favorite hot spot, Panera Bread.  I check on everything and then go back to my leisure time.

As much as I love connectivity – we all need to truly take a break once in awhile and for me it starts at about 4pm today.  I’m unplugging and going away until late on Sunday night.

Do you take time to get completely unplugged?

  • I'm pretty bad at it... I take my laptop to the couch while i watch tv, I took it to vegas over x-mas.. it even makes it into the bedroom ;-0

I'm tryin my hardest to not give in to temptation and buy that Blackberry I SOOOO want.. knowing me I'd be checking my email while on the toliet.

My DSL was down for a few hours last week and I spazzed so bad i started calling all my friends to see if i could come over and use their internet. HA Well I mean c'mon... i was within the last hours of the ebay auction with resume asap! How was I gonna snatch it up at the last minute??!!

I hate to say it.. but thank goodness for dial-up!! I won the auction!
  • I'm getting better about this lately. I still take my laptop with me, but I don't always log on. Having people covering my helpdesk and knowing that they'll call me if I'm needed gives me the peace of mind I need to log off for awhile.
  • Hi Kelly,

    You asked:

"Do you take time to get completely unplugged?"

Unfortunately, I take too much time unplugging......
