Work at Home Moms love to advertise, and we don’t always make wise decisions about our advertising dollars. About a year ago I bought the Advertising Moms website from my friend Tara Crooks because I saw it as an opportunity to provide good advice to our community about one of the most expensive business areas that we deal with.
I get emails from new moms who have a business they wish to promote and they want to know how best to spend their limited budget. I have a ‘form letter’ of sorts that I respond with, well not really but it seems like it. I always say the same thing: Don’t advertise until your website is ready and to decide if it’s really ready or not, I encourage them to come join us over at Mom Masterminds so that they can get some honest feedback and advice.
It’s better to spend a bit of money on good advice than spend a lot of money on advertising when your website isn’t ready for it!
What about when you ARE ready to advertise?
Well, if your site is ready and you have a budget worked out – I really wish that you would look into doing some advertising on internet radio and podcast shows.
I promise you that I don’t say that just because I own an internet radio network!
Just think about it.
You could spend a few hundred dollars buying buttons and banners on a variety of websites and hope that the visual you use grabs attention and attracts a good qualified click.
OR you could spend a few hundred dollars sponsoring a podcast. You’ll receive the online ad you’d get with the other guys, plus you’ll receive an on air commercial that can SPEAK your message to the listenership, giving you a greater ability to convey who you are and what you have to offer.
People remember what they hear and see far more than what they see alone.
With podcasting, you can laser target your audience too.
Give it some thought and if you’d like to learn more about advertising to Moms through podcasting, shoot Patrysha an email at patrysha@momsradionetwork.com :)
