A few days ago I received an early #wahmwish nomination from a fellow Work at Home Mom, Kim Smith.
Kim and I (and friends Cindy Bidar and Tishia Lee) are all going to Atlanta in January for the Niche Affiliate Marketing System conference. (You’ve probably heard of it as NAMS.)
We all hoped that our friend Mary Lutz could go… but money is super tight and try as she might, Mary just couldn’t make a case for buying her ticket right now. (They have a house that hasn’t sold yet and double bills as a result… so many people are in the same situation – it’s so tough!)
When Kim suggested Mary for the #wahmwish – my first thought was that it would be great! My second thought was that some might view it as favoritism. Mary is a personal friend of mine – we live in the same area, attend the same church, etc.
Hmm… what to do – what to do.
I decided the only thing to do – was to fulfill the wish!
Mary’s situation is the EXACT sort of situation that the #wahmwish is supposed to help address. A mom needs something for her business that she can’t afford – something that can really help her move forward and build it up.
Yes, Mary is a personal friend. Yes, it is certainly favoritism. But never fear. Mary’s ticket to NAMS has been 100% financed by Work at Home Moms Talk Radio. (And through the wonderful business of affiliate marketing, we’ll get half of that back in an affiliate commission.)
Trust that I would never employ favoritism in any situation that involved community donations :)
When nominations come in over the next week or so – every decision involving community donations will be made with the oversight and participation of a trusted group of work at home moms in our community. (We’ll announce who they are when we officially kick off #wahmwish on Friday.)
With all that being said, please extend congratulations to Mary – she’s going to NAMS!
