Where to find Telecommuting Jobs?

Last week we talked about what telecommuting is so you should have a pretty good idea now of what exactly telecommuting is and if it is right for you. Now we are going to talk about where to find Telecommuting Jobs.

Now that you know what telecommuting is, how do you find work as a telecommuter? We are going to go through some different ways you can begin your job search as a telecommuter.

Before we get started … be sure that you create a Professional resume that gives your previous work history, skills and references so that you have this ready upon request.

Okay now lets move onto the job search …

First you may start by asking your previous employers to see if they would have an opportunity for you to pick up some telecommuting work at home. After all they already know your work ethic and may have some work that they can allow you to bring home.

Just remember when you approach someone about doing telecommuting work that you are sure to point out the things we went over in last week’s blog post. Things like why it would benefit an employer to hire a telecommuter.

Next you might try looking locally in your area. Look in local newspapers, call local small businesses, you may even try calling temporary agencies in your area to see if they have anything available in the telecommuting field.

If you have no luck looking locally, you may want to move your search online. There are a couple different ways that you can begin your search online. You can begin by looking on websites such as Career Builder or Monster.com.

When doing a job search for any job online you want to be aware of scams. You can learn more about what to watch for as far as online work at home scams at Rat Race Rebellion. Not only does this website list information on scams but they also have a job listing for opportunities that have been checked out and are true opportunities to find work at home. You can visit the Job Listing here. They also have a mailing list so be sure to check that out while you are there!

Another great resource to check out is JustOnlineJobs.com. They are committed to providing the best information, advice and resources for anyone who would like to work from their own home. We provide weekly updated content, daily legitimate work at home jobs, reviews of work at home resources and more. So that’s another great place to check!

You can also do a search on google.com or yahoo.com using keywords such as Telecommuting, Tele-work, and Telecommuter to see what you can come up with there. Just keep in mind that there are scams out there so be sure you read the link I posted above about watching out for work at home scams.

If all else fails then you may want to look into starting your own business. You’re probably thinking what? But seriously if you cannot find the opportunity you want and you still want to work out of your home as a Telecommuter, then you may wish to look into starting your own Virtual Assistant/Freelance Business. This would allow you the tools to show your new clients, or employers that you are a serious Work at Home Professional when you do come across that job or client that you want to work for! You can learn more on how to start your own Virtual Assistant Business here.

We hope this gives you a good start for your Telecommuting job search. Next week we will dig into just how much money you can make being a telecommuter.
