Working at Home

Your WordPress blog can do a lot more with the content you enter than just display text with a few words made bold or italics here and there.

I’ve coached quite a few people through making their posts look more visually interesting and I have made a quick video to show you how you can make use of the tools available to you in your WordPress blog.

You’ll learn how not to copy and paste content and how to make a long blog post ‘scan’ worthy. The video is about 15 minutes long, so grab a soda and let’s hang out for a few.

I’m actually modeling this video on a brand new blog I helped Jenn Cangelosi set up to support her eBay store. We did this in advance of our free blogging for ebay moms seminar we’re doing tomorrow night at 9pm EST.

Thanks Kelly, the video is so clear. I’ve been using the paste from word option and the kitchen sink. Those were great when moving my site into WP.

I’ve been ignoring heading format, and has been only highligting the text in some important spots. Your explanation is really good on how to use headings and where to put bold text.

Loved this video! I'm “redoing” many of my older posts and will be using this formatting info to make them more visually interesting and scannable for sure. Thanks for the great info.
