Confession time, I have not been into the whole WAHM thing for very long. So I had not heard of people singing the praises of Mom Masterminds for years … I just sort of fell into it one day. It was actually my FIRST exposure to the WAHM community if you can believe it! Why not start with the very best, right?!
One day last December I saw an ad for TwitterMoms on Facebook and since were just over the first trimester mark with our surrogate, I felt like I may actually be a mom finally. So I signed up and then read a post that someone was applying for Kelly’s Christmas Wish program that she wanted a lifetime membership to Mom Masterminds. I asked her what MM was, and she told me a bit about it, how it was a great place for moms who work on the internet and said there was a free trial. So I signed up for the free trial and was quickly immersed into the whole WAHM culture.
During the free trial, I participated a free session and was quickly amazed and how friendly everyone was. There was so much information in the resource section, I couldn’t get through even a chunk of it during the free trial, so I knew I had to sign up and see how it would go as a full-fledged member.
At the beginning of January, Kelly and Aurelia Williams did a Breakthrough Week, every morning there was a session for a whole week on a different topic to kick our butt into gear in 2009 – those sessions were amazing and I still am re-listening to them. Participating in Breakthrough Week proved to me I was in the right place.
Those Breakthrough Sessions were such a hit that they are now done every Monday morning – what a perfect way to start the week – all fired up! You do not have to be a MM member to participate, but the recordings are only available to members afterward. Attending these sessions has taught me that I am not alone … all of these successful women have started out exactly where I am.
Now what actually goes on inside of MM? Top secret stuff, I would be killed if I shared the information. OK, maybe not at all … LOL.
What kind of Moms are members of Mom Masterminds?
There are many different types of Moms on MM, but all use the internet to make money for their businesses. There are internet marketers, information product creators, affiliates, virtual assistants, coaches, direct sales people, e-commerce site owners, copywriters, ghostwriters, etc, etc. A real garden variety of moms dedicated to helping each other make money. And actually, some are not even Moms – scandalous!!
The Forums
The forums on Mom Masterminds is chock FULL of great advice. It is not a super, busy, active forum with hundreds of new posts a day and that is because of one reason – the women of Mom Masterminds don’t have time to chit chat or start flame wars or gossip because they are BUSY. Busy making money and supporting their families. The forum is busy enough you can check on it every day or two and not be overwhlemed with a crazy amount of new posts. The most important thing to know is, if you ask a question, you will get excellent, honest advice. Seriously, it is the best advice I have ever read in a forum!
There are many different forums to read, depending on your area of interest. Of course the Introduction and General Discussion is a great way to introduce yourself to the MM community. There is a whole section for Online Marketing where you can get advice on a huge variety of sub-categories like blogging, copywriting, affiliate marketing, etc. There is a special resources section with exclusive offers, bartering, sell your site, and much more. You can share your goals with other members, brag about a big accomplishment or just chat in the off-topic forum. There is a forum for everyone and everything!
Resources
There is a HUGE (like crazy big) resource section full of information for you to consume and act on. There are tons of mp3s that you can listen to and lots of special reports, e-books and more. There are courses and recommended services. It will take you months to go through all of this goodness. If you need to know something about working on the internet (from autoresponders to podcasting), there is a resource or 2 or 3 or 4 for you.
In addition to resources above, each month there is a specific resource added, the theme of the resources this year is A Focused Business, and every month you get a new resource to keep you focused. And they are not silly little feel-good messages, these are meat and potatoes, how to get things done and here’s how to do it resources. Invaluable to both newbies and established WAHMs.
I have tried a lot of different membership sites, mostly in the internet marketing niche, and they promise a whole list of resources, but when you check them out, most of them are PLR, they are outdated and just kind of … well, crap. This is soooooo NOT the case with the Mom Masterminds resources. If they refer to older programs or if there has been a change in the marketplace, it is noted on the main page of the resource.
Do I sound like a deranged lunatic? Obsessed with Mom Masterminds? Well, I sort of am, because it has really helped me out in so many, may ways and if you haven’t taken the free 7 day trial, I really encourage you to sign up for it so you can see why I am so enthusiastic. Mom Masterminds is definitely a BIG DEAL!
