(Haliburton, Ontario – October 9, 2007) The solution for parents searching for environmentally friendly baby products has arrived; Oh Simple Baby delivers those hard to find items right to your mailbox. Heidi Oran, of Eagle Lake, Ontario has chosen to take an eco-friendly approach to raising her son, and is now sharing her findings on her new website www.ohsimplebaby.com. Oh Simple Baby is an online retail store featuring cloth diapers, all-natural care products, slings, handcrafted greeting cards, glass baby bottles, and many other items that encompass a natural approach to raising babies. In appreciation of The Hospital for Sick Children, which assisted in the treatment of Heidi’s son after his birth, five percent of the site’s total sales will be donated to SickKids Foundation.

Attempting to find high-quality earth-conscious products can pose a challenge for new parents, as Heidi herself experienced. “I found it difficult to locate items that I wanted to use for my son, and it became obvious to me that I could make it a simple process,” as a result, Oh Simple Baby was born. Two products available on the site that Heidi is very proud to feature are; an alternative to potentially harmful plastic baby bottles, and an updated design of the traditional cloth diaper. “Plastic bottles are known to release a chemical into the bottle’s contents known as Bisphenol-A,” she continues, “glass bottles do not pose this threat, are re-useable, and can eventually be recycled when no longer needed.” The same attitude is shared in carrying cloth diapers, as it takes a disposable diaper up to 500 years to decompose. This featured “pocket diaper” is “an environmentally conscious solution to the waste that disposable diapers create,” she says. “It offers the feel of disposable diapers, is easy-to-use, soft on your baby’s skin and saves you money.”

Heidi looks close to home when selecting products, as each is handpicked by her and used first on her son. “My goal is to make it easier for parents to locate high-quality, all-natural products, and if I am not familiar with the items it would be unfair to those parents,” she says. Heidi also contacted friends who create products, and whose mandate coincides with that of Oh Simple Baby, these products will also be featured on the site: “Touch of Nature,” Stacy Pietryszyn’s (Eagle Lake) line of pregnancy & baby all-natural paraben-free personal care products; Paula Seguin’s (Windsor) creations of funky yet elegant ring slings, bibs, nursing covers, luxurious blankets, custom made tutus’; and Nadine Carpenter’s (Toronto) hand-made greeting cards for those tired of mass-produced sentiment.
