Working at Home

Soldotna, Alaska – In true “do it yourself” spirit, Crissy Herron Gipson has launched www.IndieBizChicks.com, a website that offers business, marketing, and publicity info to “women who’d rather work for themselves, than work for the man.” Aimed for women in their twenties and thirties, this website reaches out to the growing indie crafts market, as well as to other women business owners with a slight edge.

“There are a lot of women in their twenties and thirties who are looking for something more than your typical corporate job. We watched our parents go through numerous lay offs and downsizings. Many of us would rather have our own business doing something we love or are passionate about, rather than work for an employer who may lay you off at any time. That’s where my website comes in. I hope to provide women with the information they need to start and grow their businesses,” says Crissy.

The website features basic information on how to purchase a domain and website hosting as well as specific information such as how to make your copywriting stand out. In addition to the website, there is also a podcast which features interviews and tips from experts, as well as profiles of women business owners.
