Concentrating on the complete cycle from marketing to presentation
NOBLE, OK—July 25, 2007– The 18.5% increase in online retail sales
during the first quarter of 2007, is one factor at the root of
thousands of home business seeking out a piece of the $31.5 billion US
market. In pursuit of success, many new ventures fail to reach their
potential. A majority miss the mark and rapidly fail to attract a
significant customer base, according to Michelle Waters, physical
product coach and director of the Physical Product Power Up, a new
course being offered this August to increase success rates for
physical product sellers.
Hundreds of new retail sites for physical products are launched every
day, while nearly as many close down in the same time period. Though
the financial risks associated with launching a new product are
reduced online, the psychological impact of failure can be just as
devastating, according to Waters.
“I see it daily in my coaching business,” says Waters, who has been
providing private coaching sessions to small businesses to achieve
online sales for over five years, “people have an idea for a product
based business and move quickly to online sales without taking the
time to develop a plan for success.”
Because physical product sellers have to create a website that
performs a complex series of tasks, market research and evaluation are
vital. In order to succeed a physical product website needs to
attracts and retains traffic to entice customers through the sales
process as well as integrate presentation, ordering and shipping
procedures to create a seamless environment for their visitors.
“Failure is nearly always avoidable, the Physical Product Power Up is
all about reducing the risks and increasing the chances of success,”
explains Waters. “The sad fact is that most of the launches could very
well be successful if only the potential product sellers would spend a
little bit of time developing their skills in a few key areas.
