Let me start out by telling you that my new apartment is fantastic!
I have to say that I can see God’s hand in everything about my move. His favor and grace has been on every situation – even when I was not getting what I thought I wanted ;)
In a housing market that moves slower than honey, my house sold in less than three months and the buyer even made a full price offer. And the closing went very well. I made about three thousand more than I expected to in the deal.
The apartment that I looked at and staked my claim for back in January turned out to be a no-go when the management rejected my application (said my self employment made me too much of a risk). I felt so sad about it – but in the end, I got a larger apartment with more features in a better location!
My place is in West Lansing. I’m close to everything I want to be close to – in fact, I was thinking the other day how similar this location feels to everything I enjoyed about my home in Gaylord. I’m just outside of the main flow of traffic, it’s a quiet complex with beautiful ponds that attract geese, ducks, muskrats, etc.
We arrived on Friday and spent Saturday and Sunday shopping and getting things situated. I have felt like we were so on the go that we needed a down day so today we never even ventured outside of the apartment. It was so nice to just relax and get used to our new surroundings.
The unit is huge – bigger than the main floor of my house. We have three bedrooms, the largest we’re using for the home office. There is two full bathrooms and an included washer and dryer which totally rocks! (I fully expected to have to use a laundry mat so that’s just bonus material.)
We still have a lot of boxed to unpack and organize, but we’re in the home stretch.
So thanks for bearing with me through the big move.
By the way… WAHM Talk Radio will be published Tuesday afternoon – featuring a guest host that you’ll really enjoy.
