Shelly Hill has finally made it home from her long stay in the hospital! She is still healing but she is at least able to do some from home. A lot of prayers and well wishes went out for her. It is heartwarming to see and experience the love and support around the work at home communities! It is simply amazing to say the very least.
The impact of a community so large and so caring is amazing to me still. I remember back in 2003 when my cousin had her son prematurely at the age of 17 and had no means to travel back and forth to the children’s hospital an hour away or stay with no money for food at the McDonald house. So what happened? This community, the WAHM community came together held an auction for her and made enough for her to stay up there for a few months. Totally Awesome!
My cousin’s son, Scotty survived, he is disabled from brain bleeds and has a shunt for the rest of his life BUT he thrives! I can only thank those in this community for making it happen as my cousin would not have afforded to be up there as often allowing the kangaroo care they swear by! I think her being with him as much as she was is what pulled him through.
Just recently with social media the same phenomenon happened for Anissa Mayhew and her family, on a much larger scale as the kindness was able to spread through this wonderful thing called Social Media!
You hate to hear about tragedy and sickness when it happens, but the reminder of the shear awesomeness of the work at home, mommy and blogging communities is utterly amazing. It makes headlines it is that incredible!
