The Work at Home Community really stepped up to the plate and met a need in a major way. We raised just shy of $900 to buy LaTara a new computer and she managed to stretch it to cover a new digital camera for her business.
Latara sent me a note to post for you all…
I want to take the time to thank everyone who donated, prayed and sent your well wishes to me when my computer died. To see the move within the WAHM Community did my heart good and my uplifted my spirit at time when I really did not know what to think. My prayers that week were, “Lord, I am not sure what You are allowing, but I know that it will work out.”When I replied to Kelly that morning in response to an email that she had sent me, I had no idea she would take the bull’s horn and run with it. And with a vengeance too. That was not my expectation. I was simply sharing my dilemma with her. But she took the opportunity to do something about it because she knows the reality of my situation. I am very grateful to her for the effort she put forth.
It is sometimes hard for me to accept charity but that week I was just in awe of what God did through each of you. I was humbled, honored, and elated at the effort. You were morsels of blessings in my life and I see your contributions as a form of investment in my endeavor to have a successful business. You donations, be they small or large, the kinds words, prayers, and emails were overwhelming. My heart was overjoyed and I have prayed for each of you to be blessed beyond measure.
Ok I am not a computer geek but here is the run down on some of the stuff it has: a dual core processor, a digital media manager, 200 gb hard drive plus we are using the old one as well with this computer, CD/DVD burner 9 in 1 memory card reader, and gosh so many other things. The guy who built it did an awesome job at a reasonable rate and he knew that I was a podcaster and he hooked it up. His prices were so good, it allowed me to get a new Polaroid digital camera. That was a great blessing because I need one for the recipes I put up at Vegan Family Living.
I could write book about the kindness within the WAHM community but alas this is only a quick note to let each of you know how much I appreciate you. God confirmed so many things for me that week and my husband finally saw that this is not a hobby for me. It is a business that is succeeding and will continue to do so with such a supportive cast.
Blessings to Each of You,
LaTara Ham-Ying
