Today officially begins our alphabetical examination of the Happy and Successful Work at Home Mom. What does a Happy WAHM do? And what does a Successful WAHM care about?
We are definitely going to find out! Starting with the letter A:
A = Articles (Write and Submit them!)Of course, I’m am the co-founder of EasyArticleMarketing.com (with Kelly), so I may be biased here, but I feel that article marketing IS one of the best ways to get traffic to your site. I know this is supposed to be about being happy and well-adjusted, but I have a point. I see many moms spend all day posting ads on forums and classified ads that disappear later. Instead, spend your time on things that generate long-term traffic and you’ll have more time to soak in the tub. ;)

A: Anonymous
Don’t try to be anonymous with your business. Sometimes we Moms are a bit scared of publicity. We don’t want to attract attention to our “little business”. Or we may be underconfident and afraid to really sell and market ourselves. A business mentor of mine once said “Don’t try to be anonymous!” When you’re just starting out, you need to brand yourself as the expert in your niche. Write articles and distribute them. Write press releases and distribute them. Get KNOWN. Later on if you decide to start a new website and not attach your name to it, that’s fine. But for your initial efforts, get out there and SELL yourself, your business and your ideas. – Carrie Lauth. CarrieLauth.com/blog
A = Adjustments.A work at home mom must expect the unexpected. She must be prepared to adjust her schedule at any given moment for any number of reasons – a sick child, a backed up drain, or an upset client. A mom who learns to welcome these moments as a chance to show love to her family and concern to her clients will be ahead of the game in the end. Approach these “interruptions” with a great attitude and see what a difference it makes!
