Do you have a sense of Urgency about your business?
I’ve continued to enjoy plundering the Manager Tools Podcast archives for great business management advice and this week I listened to their segments on creating a sense of urgency within your team. (Look back into December 2006 archives.)
I grinned widely as I listened because I have a team that I would like to foster a real sense of Urgency in – and I realize more than ever that this has to come from me or it won’t erupt on its own.
What does it mean to have Urgency?
For me, it means have goals, deadlines, missions and purposes and sharing them with my team.
I want to invite them to invest themselves into the same goals. I want their input, support, creativity and excitement. Most of all, I want to give them permission to take the goals and run!
So who’s on your team and do they know why you do what you do and where you want to go and how they can support that?
