WAHM Expert: Interview with Suzanne Franco

Working at Home

I have been working with Suzanne from SuzanneFranco.com for a little while now and personally just love her. This woman to me is a one woman get you up and running on the internet show. She amazes me with her incredible knowledge and her genuine excitement for what she does! We should all be a little bit more like her!

Suzanne was gracious enough to allow me to interview her. I would have loved to bring it audio but unable to at the moment use my headphone mic set, so she was kind enough to bring it old school in an email interview.

Me: Your name certainly comes up often as an expert in your field. When it people speak about you as a business expert, what key things do you hope they are associating with such a title beside the word “expert”? Can you explain further?

Suzanne: Wow, what a compliment! LOL. I do feel I’m a bit of an expert at what I do online and I want people to know that it took a lot of hours reading and studying, a lot of hard work, and a LOT of trial and error to learn what I now know.

I enjoy passing on what I now know so I like to think of myself of a “teacher” or “mentor” of sorts. Some of the key things I hope others are associating with me would be that I’m very genuine, “real,” down to earth, nice, helpful and patient. I am a “giver” by nature but I also promised myself that I would never, ever forgot how it feels to be totally new online and to feel completely lost and confused … and how it feels to want to give up. I want to help others in any way I can online.

Me: With your marketing techniques would you consider them unique or do you follow tried and true techniques? Would you be willing to share a couple tips to the WTR readers?

Suzanne:I think, for the most part, my marketing techniques are pretty tried and true. I have tried some ideas that were a bit “out of the box” for when I tried them … but they have since become fairly mainstream. An example of that was how I integrated other media types onto my blog when very few others were using them (i.e. audio, video, etc.). I had no idea what I was doing (they say ignorance is bliss LOL) but once I saw audio and video on blogs I knew I really wanted them too.

In fact, using various media techniques on your site/blog is something that I always suggest to other online business owners. It’s worth the effort to learn how to use audio and video. We are all so busy these days and we want to be offered a variety of ways to be “fed” our online information. There are times that I can’t read a blog post but if I can listen to the audio message in the background it saves me time. The same is true of video. If I can watch a “how to” video as opposed to having to read through a written tutorial it saves me time.

In fact, I barely even knew how to turn on my video camera (not kidding) when I decided to use video while competing in the Blogging Idol competition and that paid off huge for me!

Me: How do you feel your expertise helps those who want or are currently work from home?

Suzanne: Because I have spent countless hours (and money) learning what I know online I do feel qualified to help others. My hope is that I help others by being honest with what has worked for me, and more importantly, what hasn’t worked for me.

If I can save someone time and/or money because I’ve “been there done that” (or even read about it) then it makes me very happy to help. I always try to live with a “pay it forward” attitude. One of my all-time favorite quotes is, “If you help enough people get what they want … you’ll get what you want.” ~ Zig Ziglar

As I mentioned she is quite something, don’t you agree?
