Today we’re going to discus the most important reason to begin incorporating home office fitness into your busy workday… Your kids!

Working from home provides us with the wonderful opportunity to be around our children as much as we possibly can. Not many kids have the chance to see their parents in action every day and learn exactly what their parents do for a living.

You are in a unique situation, which has some pros and cons. Kids are sponges and they learn a great deal from our actions. We’re their biggest role models especially during the early years.

What example are you setting for your children?

My kids see that I take quickie fitness breaks during my workday. This was one of my proudest moments that occurred when I was recording a workout video last year. My daughter decided to join in and workout with me. At one moment she began to do an exercise that I wasn’t doing, but she had seen me do before. Check it out…

Work At Home Role Model

I have received some great videos from my fellow Fat Loss Quickie members that show their kids getting involved in their workouts. It’s been cute to see 1 and 3 year old’s get involved and totally awesome to see busy work at home moms taking part in home office fitness with their teenage daughters.

I love to keep it real with my videos. I don’t do much editing if any at all. If my kids (or cat) come into the video while I’m filming I just roll with it. I want to encourage my kids to get in front of the camera and express themselves.

Have there been some embarrassing moments? HA, you better believe it. They’ve called me silly names, they’ve smacked me on the butt, they announced that I broke a toilet (even though I really didn’t) :)

The actions that my kids see me doing are a) helping others, b) taking care of my health, c) knowing when to turn the computer off and spend quality time with my family.

When it comes to operating a home business it’s easy to focus on doing just business tasks because you believe those tasks are what’s going to bring in the doe so you can help support your family and provide them with the life that they deserve…

...But the life that they deserve is measured in much more than dollars and cents. Know when to turn the computer off. Know when to take short breaks. Live life to the fullest.

Show your kids how much you love them by setting the best possible example that you can be. They deserve it and the rewards that you will receive in return will be much greater than you could ever imagine.

You ROCK! Enjoy the experience,

Scott Tousignant
