Working at Home

Home Office Fitness Expert Scott TousignantHello there. My name is Scott Tousignant. It’s an absolute honor to be a guest blogger here at WAHM Talk Radio this week. I’ll be sharing home office fitness tips with you in an effort to increase your productivity, energy, and improve your focus, quality of work, and overall health.

I hope that you enjoyed hearing Tishia interview me yesterday for Work at Home Moms Talk Radio Show #289. It sure was a fun, high-energy call.

Today you’ll discover 3 simple exercises that you can do at your desk to improve the circulation in your legs. This is an extremely important issue for busy work-at-home-moms that rarely receives the attention that it deserves.

I’m curious. How many hours do you spend sitting at your desk during your workday? Are there times when you sit there for a few hours without getting up and moving around?

The complications of spending several hours working at your desk each day goes beyond the typical health concerns of a sedentary lifestyle. This isn’t just about your weight or your heart health.

Lack of circulation in your legs can result from extended periods of time where your legs are in a bent position such as sitting in your office chair.  Some of the common problems associated with blocked or upset blood flow in your legs are; sore and tight lower leg muscles, leg pain, numbness in your legs, pain behind the knees, and knee joint pain. Over the long term there can be greater health complications that result from poor circulation in your legs.

But I’m not here to scare you. I’m here to help you become the best YOU that you can be. That’s why I’ve put together 3 simple exercises that you can do at your desk to improve your circulation and have a more productive day.

WAHM Desk Exercises

The three exercises are:

1) Imaginary Bag Kicks
2) Running On The Spot
3) Butt Kicks

You will perform each exercise for 30 seconds. This will take you a total of 2-minutes since the Imaginary Butt Kicks are performed one leg at a time.

In addition to improving your circulation, these exercises will work your butt and thigh muscles. What work-at-home-mom doesn’t want a firm butt and tight thighs?

It’s amazing how your heart rate can become elevated and your breathing becomes more labored in a measly two minutes. That’s good news. If you listened to the Work-At-Home-Mom Talk Radio Show yesterday you will have heard me discus how you can actually get a better workout in just a few minutes compared to the hours that most people spend in the gym.

You have a few choices about how you can incorporate these exercises into your busy workday.

  • Take a 2-minute break each hour and perform one round of each exercise. This will ensure that your blood flow is uninterrupted.

  • Repeat the three exercises five times for a total of 10-minutes. This is a fantastic quickie cardio session that will really boost your metabolism and increase your productivity.

  • A combination of the two. Perform the 2-minute circuit each hour except one where you will perform the 10-minute circuit.

  • It’s time to be proactive with your health and take advantage of all the benefits that it will bring to your home based business as well as your life.

Enjoy the exercises and be sure to leave your feedback in the comment box below. At the end of my guest blog tour I will randomly pick a winner from the comments shared throughout the week. The winner will receive my Fat Loss Quickie Home Office Fitness program and all the bonuses that come with it.

How’s that for incentive just for sharing your thoughts and opinions? I want to hear from you. Your feedback means the world to me.

    You ROCK! Enjoy the experience,

    Scott Tousignant
