Val Selby and I have been having a discussion on WAHM Value on Working WAHM and here for the past two weeks. Within the conversations I think we brought up some valid points and even ourselves learned something about how we view our value.
This subject could not have come upon us at a better time. Val is reconstructing her focus in her businesses and I am totally reconfiguring mine, this is an incredible opportunity to review our perception of our own WAHM Value.
If you didn’t get a chance to follow along here is the conversation in its entirety on each blog:
- It started on Twitter and Val’s first post, Value as a WAHM.
- I followed up from the twitter discussion and that post with WAHM Value: A Question that Warrants More Discussion.
- More on WAHM Value followed shortly after in response to my post and also bringing more to the discussion.
- A few days later my reply was Discussion on WAHM Value Continues, totally digging into my opinion on the matter.
- When Val posted WAHM Value: My Time, I was totally excited because it sparked some thought, some major retrospect on my part!
- It enticed the post, WAHM Value Perceptions: Drawing the Line on Help vs Giving it All Away, which appears to be something her and me both struggle with! With the right perception it can be figured out quite easily. Also knowing where the line of help begins and ends is a huge help.
Is this discussion over? Not likely as we move into the changes we make and reevaluate how we do things in business, I am sure this will be ignited again with other WAHM Value points. I am ready and willing for this conversation to continue. We as work at home moms need to be reminded every so often that our knowledge and know how hold value!
How do you value your time and knowledge?
