I think Cheryl has spent many years providing a fantastic service to the wahms out there. I'm sure the transfer of the site was not a spur-of-the-moment decision. I would love to have seen it go to another wahm but things don't always work out like we think they should. Best wishes to Cheryl and hopefully she's smiling all the way to the bank. She deserves it!

We Should Celebrate the Sale of WAHM.com...

The sale of WAHM.com to Internet Brands, Inc. has work at home moms questioning whether a WAHM site can be successfully run by a big company.

She says she sees it as a good fit. I really don't. I think it's a pretty much a big opportunity to advertise junk to a huge following of WAHMs that aren't even interested in those types of things when they visit the site.

I personally stopped visiting the site a few years ago because the quality overall was lacking for a true WAHM or a serious WAHM beginner. So, I'm sure it won't affect me anyway, but it is still sad to see something that many WAHMs enjoy and would give their right eye to be a part of handed off to a company in corporate America. Seems hypocritical. Big companies don't have the first clue what a WAHM wants, needs, searches for, or depends on in their daily life. They can try, but I doubt the succeed in becoming anything other than another magnet for work at home scam opportunities.

I got the impression that Cheryl is sticking around short term for easier change of hands, not as a partner long term, and certainly not as someone that will have any say in how things will be handled to ensure it is a valuable resource to it's TARGET MARGET.

Good for Cheryl. It's amazing to watch deals like this. I guess the only thing I'm wondering is why would a WAHM site be sold to a non-wahm? In a nutshell, it's her baby, so I'm sure she thought long and hard about her decision. Best wishes to Cheryl and WAHM.com.
