Did you catch the new television show, American Inventor? My son got me to watch it this past week and of course I’m hooked now. Some of the inventions are so silly but all of the people are so earnest and so devoted to their ideas. It must be so hard to have someone tell you that you’re idea is bad.
A gal on the WAHM.com forum pointed out that some of the inventors were WAHMs and that some of them made it through to the next round which is very cool.
The spirit of innovation has to be stirred up in all of us. We have so much creativity – we must not let it go to waste. I’ve never had an idea for an invention, but I’ve definitely had ideas for websites and products that have born fruit. I wonder what you will come up with Mom?

I thought of you when I saw it, b/c I know how much you like the apprentice.
At first, I thought the show would stink! I mean, how excited can you get about people showing their inventions? Another reality bomb…
But I got hooked too! By the last segment with the 14 yr old boy I was crying! I LOVE his determination! I’m so bummed he didn’t get to move on.
It seems like a PERFECT blend of American idol & The apprecitice. Competition, professional feedback & the American entrepeurial spirit. Gotta love it!

Thanks for the reminder!! My 7 year old and I have been wanting to watch it… it’s now set up on our Tivo. I ALWAYS have ideas for inventions, so this will be interesting to watch.
Oh, and The Apprentice is the ONLY reality show I watch, and have been glued to it since it began. My kids go around singing “money, money, money!”. :-)
