Special reports, small reports – whatever you want to call them, they are usually an online document served as a PDF file and they come in all lengths. Longer than a long article, shorter than a short ebook… actually they defy definition for the most part – which adds to the appeal for me ;)
If you want to learn more about creating winning special reports that will help you grow your list, develop new joint ventures and overall expand your reach, I recommend Jimmy D. Brown’s Small Reports Fortunes course.
I’ve devoured this course over and over. I just listened to the ‘Improving Your Small Report’ audio again this week. I keep getting new ideas from it so I’ll probably listen again.
Want to see an example of a special report that I created and distributed last year?
I used this to promote the re-release of my expanded Power of a Focused Business product and coaching. (I also peppered it with links to WAHM Talk Radio.) I branded it with affiliate links for any affiliate who asked for it and I allowed them to freely give it away. I gave it away on my websites too.
Because I didn’t require an opt in and allowed others to give away their own copy, I’ll never know exacly how many got out there – but I do know that the traffic on my product site boosted 25% the first month up to about 35% the second month after it’s release.
I also signed up three new coaching clients directly from the offer made in the report.
And the cool thing is that I’m not done using this report! It’s great information and I’m going to continue to add to it to make it even more useful and continue to offer it out there for long term benefits.
With all of the slapping going on around our community from Google, it’s more important than ever to employ tools that bring your traffic directly. Special reports is definitely one that works.
Pick up Jimmy’s course. I am sure you won’t regret it.
